Join Us For The New Year’s Day Walk!
Let’s ring in the New Year with a stroll among
Harvard’s protected forests and fields.
When: January 1, 2023
Time: 11 a.m.
Where: Parking Lot of soccer field (opposite 56 Depot Rd)
This year’s hike will feature the lichen-covered rocky outcroppings and ledges, white pine and oak forest that can be found on the Prospect Hill conservation land. If you have never been, you may be surprised at how beautiful it is so close to the recreation fields and the transfer station!
Bring warm clothes, good footwear (some mud or wet areas are possible), and maybe a stabilizing pair of hiking poles as we follow a 1 1/2-mile route. Moderately steep in places, and some slippery stretches are possible, but the quiet of the forest and the beauty of the site are the rewards.
In the event of hazardous weather, the walk will be cancelled. Cancellation notice will be posted on NextDoor Harvard.
