Each year two Trustees from HCT have an opportunity to review the student’s projects that explore scientific concepts, conduct independent research, and present their findings. Moonlight Hike, Saturday, October 4

Moonlight Hike The Harvard Conservation Trust invites you to join neighbors and friends for a spooky hike under the full moon and into the forest where owls, bats, and other nocturnal creatures dwell.  Following the hike, we’ll gather ‘round a campfire to enjoy refreshments, learn about the night forest, and watch the moon rise. Run For The Hills, Sunday, October 26

Run For The Hills, 2025 Join us for the annual Run For The Hills races! The 5k trail race features a rugged and beautiful course, starting and ending at the CHP barn on Prospect Hill.  The 1-Mile Fun Run (for kids of all ages) stays on trails inside the orchard.  Come to run; stay for the great food. Spring is the time for Vernal Pool Exploration! Join biologist Bob Douglas for an exploration of vernal pools! Discover how this essential ecosystem, brimming with flora and fauna comes to life each year at this time. This event is appropriate for most school age children and inquisitive preschoolers with their caregivers. Viewing sleds and nets will be provided, and families are welcome to bring their own. Cider Hike 2025

Join Harvard Conservation Trust for a spring cider hike Join Harvard Conservation Trust’s biologist and naturalist, Bob Douglas, for a family-friendly hike on April 13, 2025. The hike will begin at Carlson Orchards, travel through Harvard Conservation Trust land and back. We’ll stroll through peach and apple trees, beautiful woodland paths and wildlife meadows. Bob will point out spring sights on the trail, including an active beaver pond, complete with its impressive lodge and dam. The hike is less than a mile and takes about an hour. After the hike, we’ll enjoy donuts and cider around an outdoor fire pit.

New Moon Hike under the Stars Come join us for a New Moon Hike on February 28 at 7:00 p.m.!
