HCT 50th Anniversary Fund
About the Fund
The 50th Anniversary Fund is a new land protection fund that enables the Harvard Conservation Trust to continue to preserve land and water resources here in Harvard for future generations to come. This new fund builds on the success of the Muller Conservation Collaborative (MCC) Fund, a generous $1.5M gift from HCT founder, Erhart Muller. Inspired by Muller’s example, countless others have contributed as well, enabling HCT to conserve over 350 acres since 2016.
The MCC fund is nearly exhausted, and the 50th Anniversary of the Trust is the perfect moment to launch this new fund. Like MCC, the 50th Anniversary Fund will be used exclusively for land protection, and HCT will work to match dollars in this fund through individual or institutional contributions. HCT also leverages public funding, foundation grants, and partnerships whenever possible to match contributions to the 50th Anniversary Fund.
How Your Contribution Works
When you give to the 50th Anniversary Fund, as always, your donation is 100% tax deductible.
Your donation will help us to acquire land and protect wildlife, their habitats, and critical waterways. Once land has been acquired, further efforts may include that HCT:
- Conserve sensitive ecological areas that require special protection because of the land’s landscape, wildlife or historical value.
- Build and maintain hiking trails for all to enjoy
- Support local agriculture and protect farmland
- Create outdoor educational and recreation opportunities and much more
Preserving Harvard’s natural resources is about anticipating inevitable change, and working to shape a sustainable future for that includes an abundance and variety of wildlife habitats and open spaces that supports well-being now and for future generations to come.
